What to Wear in Lake Como, Italy in May

While it was fun planning our 6 day trip in Lake Como, I found packing for this romantic getaway a little challenging. But finding dresses in my closet that I haven’t worn yet made me realize that — Lake Como is where I can wear some of the incredible pieces that are collecting dust in my wardrobe!

Here are a few ideas for what to wear in Lake Como in May…

Vacation Outfit Ideas

With comfort and style in mind, I have decided on the following items:

1. Breezy maxi dresses — because what’s easier than throwing on a dress and go? Just add your favorite accessories and you are done putting an outfit together!
2. White dress — pair with a patterned scarf for a day of wandering around. A colorful scarf will contrast nicely with a white color.
3. Romper — polished and stylish look on a warm sunny day.
4. Jeans, tees, loafers, and sneakers — for a day of hiking and exploring the beautiful towns of Lake Como.
5. Sandals
6. Trench coat and cardigan — Wear layers… because temperature varies by time of day.
7. Accessories: hats, sunglasses, belts, and scarves — these accessories give outfits a fun and stylish update.

Although, I packed this romper, I didn’t get to wear it on our Lake Como trip. Hubby and I decided to go hiking for a second time in Varenna. It is such a beautiful place to explore and hike!
